Senator Herb Rozell Scholars Program
Purpose
To honor the outstanding work and accomplishments of Retired Oklahoma Senator Herb Rozell, Northeastern State University along with Senator Rozell’s friends and family have created the Senator Herb Rozell Scholars Program.
Description
The program has been designed to give two annual awards to NSU undergraduate students at Northeastern State University who while enrolled have demonstrated exceptional campus and community leadership, outstanding scholastic achievement, and exhibit a commitment to excellence for the future. Funded by private donations to the NSU Foundation, this unique program will provide annual awards of $1,000 per semester for students to use toward their educational expenses. Each recipient will receive funding to attend the LeaderShape Institute in Allerton, IL.
The Senator Herb Rozell Scholar recipients will lead the planning and execution of Northeastern State University’s annual BIG Event held the last Saturday in March. Scholar recipients may be expected to attend a national conference on The BIG Event scheduled for April 24-26, 2009.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, you must have completed 90 hours by the end of the spring semester, maintained a 3.25 grade point average, expect to attend NSU for 2 additional semesters, and anticipate earning their baccalaureate degree within the next three semesters. As a Rozell Scholar, you will represent the University and our student body at numerous social, civic and educational events throughout the year.

Applicants need to submit the Application Form with answered application questions, personal resume and reference letter.
Complete applications should be returned to Student Affairs, Administration Building Room 204, no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009.
Interviews will be held the week of April 6th.
