The purpose is to describe Northeastern State University’s policy on access controlled University areas.
The policy of access control for the university is to limit authorized persons approved access to the areas in which are secured.
The granting of access controlled areas is at the discretion of the university. Access into buildings and rooms is designed to provide adequate building security for persons and property.
The access control equipment installed shall be approved equipment designed to secure and monitor the access to the area.
Periodic checks to preserve access control equipment from failure and decline shall be made.
Termination of access is determined by the status of the student or employee. Access control users are updated as needed to reflect any changes. Dorm access is removed at the end of each semester unless there is a change in the student dorm room assignment. All key/access cards are the property of the University and must be returned upon termination of employment.
