Description: Northeastern State University is currently seeking applicants for the full time position of Custodian I in the Physical Plant Department.  This is an evening position - work schedule will be 5 PM - 1:30 AM Monday through Thursday and 3 PM - 11:30 PM on Friday.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for routine care of specified university areas including vacuuming, dusting, picking up litter, cleaning marker and/or blackboards, washing windows, changing light bulbs, cleaning restrooms and drinking fountains, removing graffiti, maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, etc.; periodic care of specified areas including cleaning carpets, stripping and waxing floors and detail cleaning; make simple repairs to building(s) and cleaning equipment and report damages to building(s) and equipment that require repair; and performing various other tasks as delegated to ensure a safe and pleasant learning environment for the students, faculty, staff and public.  Work may involve moving or lifting of heavy equipment.

Qualifications: The ability to follow written and oral instructions required. Graduation from a standard high school (or approved equivalent), vocational school or equivalent on-the-job training preferred but not required.

Experience: Knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies preferred.
