Description:
The Northeastern State University College of Education invites
applications for a full time tenure-track assistant professor of Reading within the
Department of Curriculum and Instruction to begin August 2009. This position will be based on the Broken Arrow campus but
will include responsibilities at the other NSU campuses as well.
Degree Requirements: Doctorate in reading or related literacy area required; ABD candidates in a doctoral program in reading would be considered.
Experience:
At least three years teaching experience with K-12 students is required.
Responsibilities:
Student advisement and a twelve-hour teaching load made up of a combination of undergraduate and
graduate reading classes. These classes focus on areas of reading and literacy development, content area reading and assessment and remediation of reading difficulties. The undergraduate courses are a required part of the elementary, early childhood and special education teacher education program. The graduate courses are a required part of the Masters in Reading.
