2. I am receiving Address Correction Notices from recent mailings. Why?

NSU first class letter mail is sent at a discounted rate. In order to receive this discount the mail must now be endorsed with “ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED”.

When you receive an Address Corrections Notice you should update the address in the system. NSU will not be billed by the USPS when letter mail is sent to the correct address. However, NSU will be billed each time a discounted mail piece is sent to an incorrect address.

Please help in our efforts to reduce postage costs by updating your database information when you receive these notices.

and request that their members remove your name from their mailing lists. Because not all mailers are members of this organization, your request may not stop all of your advertising mail; however, it will stop some. Please be aware that this is a “blanket” removal.
