Information Systems

Computerized information systems are common in every area of modern business. The demand for Information Systems professionals who can design and maintain computerized information systems will continue to grow as we move into the 21st century. People majoring in IS become proficient in aspects of information system management common to all organizations, including: operating systems; local and global telecommunications; 5th generation programming; systems analysis; systems design; system maintenance; and systems control.

Information Systems Minor

Eighteen hours of Information Systems (IS) or Telecommunications Management (TCM) courses will fulfill the requirements for a minor in Information Systems (IS). All courses being applied to the IS minor must have an IS or TCM prefix.

 

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY English proficiency is a graduation requirement. Components I and II of English proficiency should be met with grades of “C” or better prior to the completion of 60 credit hours.
UPPER DIVISION CREDIT Total hours must include at least 40 hours of credit in courses numbered 3000 and above.
LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES At least 40 semester credit hours are required in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
RESIDENCY At least 18 hours or one-half of the major, whichever is greater, must be taken in residency.
